As many as 188 schools out of the total 2,304 girl schools in Chhattisgarh have no toilets, the state assembly was told Thursday. In a written reply to Congress Dharamjeet Singh, School Education Minister Brijmohan Agarwal admitted that 188 girl schools have no toilets and 107 don't even have hand-pump facilities. The minister said that the state has a total of 1,241 primary schools, 849 middle schools and 214 higher secondary schools for girls. He further that 44 primary, 48 middle and 15 of these higher secondary schools lacked hand-pumps.
