Minister of Education Ahmad Al-Mulaifi inaugurated on Monday the 21st cultural education season of the Gulf Arab States Education Research Center, highlighting schools as the source of true citizenship. Al-Mulaifi, also Minister of Higher Education, stressed in a speech the importance of promoting citizenship within a rapidly evolving world, adding that the role of the school is vital in creating good citizens with high hopes for achieving true human development. The minister noted that schools were not only for teaching but laying the foundations of values, knowledge, and development among the young generations to become "citizens who can tell the difference between right and wrong." The minister called on schools to contribute to formulating perosnalities of youth to help in building and developing the country. For his part, head of the Gulf Arab States Education Research Center Marzouq Al-Ghunaim said citizenship is a set of rights, duties and social responsibilities within the framework of law and social regulations
