The Ministry of Education expressed utmost regret over the statement issued by the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) on the organization's website on September 17, describing it as a dangerous precedent of interference on their part in the internal affairs of Syria, a founding member of the organization. In a statement issued on Wednesday, the Education Ministry said that the ISESCO relied on misleading, biased and lying sources and Arab and western media channels that are removed from facts, which shows the scale of the conspiracy targeting Syria using armed terrorist groups supported blatantly by Arab figures and foreign countries. The statement said that these groups are responsible for vandalizing educational, health and economic establishments as well as the murder of hundreds of civilian and military and police personnel, and that they threaten students and teachers and prevent them from going to schools, adding that such groups attacked a number of schools in Idleb governorate. The statement went on to note that the ISESCO ignored the many reforms undertaken by the Syrian government in various fields, saying that the organization should consult Syria through reliable channels used in foreign relations to learn about relevant details in order to avoid taking a misguided stance that contradicts its charter and goal and causes it to issue false accusations and calls for the Arab and Islamic world to stand against Syria during its crisis. The statement affirmed that the state and people are protecting security together from armed terrorist groups to guarantee Syria's stability and ensure the continuation of reform, development and dialogue. The statement called upon the ISESCO to use facts, information and reliable sources regarding the inhumane crimes and blatant interferences in its internal affair, which will prevent the organization from taking biased stances that are inconsistent with its goals. The statement concluded by noting that the ISESCO is aware of the wide scale cooperation between in Syria, particularly in the last decade, expressing hope for expanding cooperation with the organization in order to achieve its goal and set it on the right path.
