Private Greek primary school in Turkish Canakkale city\'s Gokceada region will be reopened on Monday after a half century. We gave great effort to reopen the school and Turkish Ministry of National Education has taken important steps, member of Foundations Assembly of the General Directorate for Foundations, Laki Vingas told AA in an exclusive interview. He said it was their first step as a \'community\' for the continuation and lastingness of their race and a concrete evidence of an investment. The school will have four students at the beginning, starting with a festival on the island, Vingas said. Former name of the school was \'Aya Todori First school\', which will be directed by Paraskevi Berber, who lives in a village on the island. Three teachers will give lectures in the school along with one assistant manager, appointed by the Turkish Ministry of National Education, who\'ll also teach Turkish. Greek minority school in Zeytinli village, which is in 4 km distance to the city center, was founded in 1951 and closed in 1964 with the will of its founder. Greek Orthodox Church Foundation had renewed the school in August, 2012 and the Turkish Ministry of National Education had approved the application to reopen the school.
