Local media reports according to which some Tunisian students in Ukraine would have been the target of racist provocations, in particular, against the backdrop of the current events are groundless, the Foreign Affairs Ministry said on Tuesday. Tunisian expatriates in the Eastern European country are safe and sound according to available official information, the Ministry indicated in a press release. Likewise, Tunisian students are pursuing their studies as usual. The Tunisian mission in Moscow tasked Tunisia's honorary consulate in Kiev, in co-ordination with student representatives in various Ukrainian universities, with following up the situation of Tunisian nationals in Ukraine and enquiring about the conditions of their stay, the press release further said. The consular service is keeping in touch with the members of the Tunisian community in Ukraine and seeking to give advice, the Ministry added.
