Minister of Education, Dr Majid bin Ali Al-Nu'aimi, emphasised that the end-of-first-semester-semester examinations are proceeding smoothly and regularly as per a preset plan, adding that the Ministry is keen on providing optimum means and potentials to ensure successful conducting of the examinations under convenient appropriate educational atmospheres so as to make it easy for students to achieve the desired success result, pointing out that the Ministry has been too keen this year to re-plan the days of the examinations in order to increase the number of days of practical schooling. This came when the Minister of Education paid an inspection visit to the Hafsah Umm-ul-Momineen Primary Girls School today during which he was assured about the right workflow of examinations of the end-of-the-first semester for second stage of basic education. The Minister explained that the Ministry of Education looks forward to continually develop schools academic performance in terms of student results achievable in the end-of-the-first semester examinations and also the National Examinations under the supervision of the Quality Assurance Authority for Education and Training (QAAET), adding that the Minister continues to deal seriously with QAAET's reports which it considers a major part of education and training initiatives which contribute in advancement of academic standards. The Minister toured the school departments, visited examination committees of science and mathematics courses of the second stage of basic education. The Minister inspected the examination committees for students with special needs and was assured on the workflow of examinations in compliance with preset plan. The Minister also met with administrative and educational board members in the school who briefed the Minister on methodology of organising examination committees and marking of question sheets. The Minister also visited the marking committees in the school and was assured about the workflow in marking students' examination papers in accordance with the mechanism applicable by the Ministry in order to ensure highest accuracy. Also, the Minister of Education attended part of lessons of the first stage of basic education, asserting the significance of continuity of the teaching/learning process for this stage which does not undergo examinations, in order ensure the right of all students to education in compliance with the accredited number of schooling days. The Minister of Education Dr Majid bin Ali Al-Nu'aimi was accompanied by the Ministry of Education's Undersecretary for Educational and Curricula Affairs, Dr Abdullah Yusuf Al-Mutawa' and a number of educators.
