Bahrain's efforts to combat corruption were the focus of a two-day workshop. The General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security organized the event at the officers' club under the theme: "Bahrain's efforts to combat corruption". Senior Prosecutor Ahmed Mohammed Al-Hamadi addressed the event, shedding the light on crime of corruption and aspects of administrative graft. He pointed out the detrimental repercussions of corruption on individuals and society. He highlighted the importance of law decree (109) for 2011 on upgrading the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security, stressing the crucial role of the Public Prosecution in combating corruption on all levels. Human resources development director-general Ahmed Yusuf Abdulrahim, Civil Service Bureau (CSB) administrative control director Shaikha Rana bint Abdulrahman Al-Khalifa, lawyer Yusuf Zainal, Bahrain Transparency Society Chairman Abdulnabi Al-Ekri and General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Science Legal Advisor Dr. Khalid Rostam Mohammed Helmi also took part in the workshop.
