Veteran social activist Anna Hazare highlighted the issues of rampant corruption and rising inflation during nationwide campaign held in Amritsar city of India\'s northern Punjab state. The veteran crusader asserted that his campaign would not plunge into politics or lose focus. Anna Hazare also said, \"Janatanra Morcha will not enter into politics and will focus on only one thing, that is to inform the citizens about rising corruption, it is difficult for a person to survive in such inflationary pressure, education system is not proper in the country, it has become difficult for the people to attain proper education. There are numerous problems. So in order to seek your opinions and advices on such issues, we have taken up this campaign.\" Earlier in the day, he payed a visit to the Sikh shrine Golden temple followed by a visit to martyr\'s memorial \'Jallianwala Bagh\'-one of the bloodiest episodes in colonial India where hundreds of civilians were killed in Amritsar city in 1919. Hazare addressed public rallies under the banner of \'Janatantra Yatra\' (tour of mass contact programme to arouse essence of democracy) to garner people\'s support against the Congress led Union government. The veteran crusader was accompanied by including former Chief of Indian Army, General (Retired) Vijay Kumar Singh. Worried over the state of country\'s politics infested with corrupt and tainted ministers, Hazare called for the urgent need to cleanse the democratic system. He said, \"We have to change the country; we have to make India a corruption free nation. Nowadays, hooligans are entering into the assembly or Lok Sabha assembly. 163 hooligans are sitting in the Lok Sabha assembly. What is the future of our country? Out of 35 ministers, 15 ministers are tainted, I am worried for the future of this country.\" Yet it faces a divided opposition and still has a fair chance of returning to power in the next elections.
