Egypt’s public prosecutor Tallat Adullah has announced his decision to release owner of CBC satellite channel Mohamed el-Amen, following investigations into alleged comments made against President Mohammed Morsi. El-Amen came under inquiry after a submitted complaint accused him of insulting both President Morsi and Islam. The CBC owner has previously claimed the looming lawsuit became a source of pride, as it linked him to issues of freedom of expression.
