Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award has selected 50 websites and an equal number of smart applications for contest of the award's 14 session.
Bassam Al-Shemmari, member of the supreme committee, indicated in a statement on Monday that a team of jurors nominated five websites and five applications for the 10 top prizes.
A recently-established council of jurors, including a number of officials and elite experts from nine Arab countries, started in October electronic judging on the bases of services, content, designing and technology. A special report will be issued to examine quality, coverage space and diversity of the e-sites and the smart apps.
The jurors will nominate the five winning top e-sites for the USD 150,000 award; USD 15,000 for each winning site.
