Egypt’s Foreign Affairs Ministry warned citizens against making online deals with unverified companies.
This came after the ministry's consular sector received complaints from Egyptian companies and traders, who were victims of fraud through online deals, said Assistant Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs Hisham el Naqib.
In a statement by the Foreign Ministry Monday, Naqib urged Egyptians not to fall prey to these scams and not to reach deals via internet with traders and companies without first obtaining documented data on those parties.
The statement said money paid by citizens in such dealings could put them at risk of losing their money to bogus entities.
