Essam el Amir, head of the Egyptian Radio and Television Union, on Saturday urged Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab to relieve Safaa Ahmed Salah Hegazy from her post as head of ERTU's News Sector.
In a memo sent to Mahlab, Amir urged appointing Hegazy as senior adviser to the ERTU.
The ERTU said in a statement that the move came after several complaints by the News Sector's staffers against Hegazy, accusing her of not cooperating and creating a problematic atmosphere in the workplace.
A number of ERTU figures were recommended by Amir to assume the post.
