His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, today met the Vice President of Amazon Web Services (WPS) for the Global Public Sector, Teresa Carlson, at Riffa Palace.
His Royal Highness highlighted that Bahrain provides advanced infrastructure for Information Communication Technologies (ICT), which is further supported by regulatory policies that reflect the Kingdom’s commitment to developing the sector.
His Royal Highness went on to emphasise the important role played by the Kingdom’s authorities to meet growing public and private sector ICT demand.
His Royal Highness welcomed the opportunity to cooperate with WPS, adding that it will serve to promote innovation and creativity in the ICT sector, a key strategy of Bahrain’s eGovernment Authority in 2016.
Vice President of WPS for the Global Public Sector expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to meet His Royal Highness. She highlighted that the Kingdom’s advanced ICT infrastructure offers excellent opportunities for companies looking to set up in the region.
His Majesty King Hamad's Personal Representative and President of the Higher Authority of Media and Communications,His Highness Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al-Khalifa and His Excellency Kamal bin Ahmed Mohammed, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunication also attended the meeting.
