Al Azhar has warned of fake Facebook accounts purporting to be that of Grand Imam of Al Azhar Ahmed Al Tayyeb.
These accounts post news and comments that contradict with the viewpoints of the Grand Imam and Al Azhar, Al Azhar's media center said on Monday.
The Grand Imam has no social media accounts, Azhar said.
It added that Al Azhar has only one Facebook page with this link: https://www.facebook.com/OfficialAzharEg?fref=ts.
Gate of Al-Azhar is the only website of Al Azhar, the media center said, warning of dealing with any other pages, accounts or websites other than these ones.
It said that Al Azhar will take all the legal actions against those fake pages and accounts.
