Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab ordered the head of the Egyptian Radio and Television Union (ERTU) to open an inquiry into the causes that forced three TV channels off the air earlier on Saturday.
Earlier, ERTU head Essam el Amir said the TV transmission was back to normal after a brief power failure at Cairo's Maspero building, the state media headquarters.
