The General Secretariat of the Arab Journalism Award is to organize its first introductory meeting next Saturday in Kuwait. The 13th meeting will see participation of Director General of the Information Office of the Government of Dubai and the Secretary General of the Arab Journalism Award Mona Ghanem Al-Marri, Director of the Dubai Press Club and director of the award Mona Bu Samra along with a number of Arab journalists and media figures. In this context, Bu Samra said in a press statement that the club takes the opportunity of presence of journalists and media professionals from all Arab countries in the State of Kuwait to organize a meeting and a gala dinner that bring together Arab journalists participating in the meeting. She indicated that the meeting will seek to encourage Arab journalists to participate in the award through a comprehensive presentation on the history of the award since its establishment until today. She added that the organization of this introductory meeting in Kuwait comes in the context of translating the vision of the founder of the award, Vice President of the United Arab Emirates, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, who urges constantly on the development of the award in order to contribute to the progress of the Arab press and encourage Arab journalists on creativity by honoring outstanding and distinguished figures. She praised cooperation of the Arab Journalists Union and the Kuwaiti Journalists Association and their efforts to hold this meeting.
