Former Algerian TV announcer for the "al-Arabiya" channel, which now works in the first Algerian satellite channel (al-Shorouk TV) Laila Bouzidi, said she is going to present a new show entitled "Here is Algeria”. She speaks in an exclusive interview to Arabstoday about her decision to return to Algeria after she roamed the Arab channels, starting with the economic channel "San NBC", to Moroccan channel "Medi 1 Sat" and the Saudi channel “Al Arabiya". She did this for her love of Algeria and other resolutions she made for her career. As for her move to the audio-visual media in Algeria with the emergence of private satellite channels on the horizon, such as "al-Shorouk" and "al-Nahar" and "Jazaariya" channels , she said: "The audio-visual media is still in its beginnings and any new experience needs time to be judged , especially Algeria which has witnessed the monopoly of the Algerian authorities to this heavy sector represented in the Algerian television, despite giving a margin of freedom to the press after the issuance of the Information Act in 1990 and the adoption of private newspapers while the audiovisual scene remained absent for years until these private channels were launched to get closer to the ordinary citizen and to deliver his concerns to the authorities.” Leila Bouzidi said her new show will tackle political, social and various other issues and will be devoted to the opinion and the alternative opinion to provide a wide degree of freedom for individuals to express what in their consciousness. The last show presented by Bouzidi on "al-Shorouk TV" is "Hadath" (Event), which is a political daily show. Laila Bouzidi lamented the reality of the official television which she did not deny that she benefited from in the past years. She had succeeded in the official TV through presenting a social show known as "mn al-Hayat" (real Life) , but the narrow mentality of the managers of the audiovisual sector was the cause of the decline in this sector. Bouzidi considers the measurement of a developed nation is the degree of freedom granted to the audio-visual media, so that it becomes the first power in the world and what is happening in the Arab world is the biggest proof of this as the camera monitors events wherever they are. The Algerian announcer hoped to develop this sector and take advantage of the energies and experiences of some Algerian journalists who are in the Gulf States to benefit their country and to advance this sector towards the establishment of strong meaningful and sincere information.
