The Committed cinema, which faces difficulties to find sources of financing is marked today with an intense amateur production thanks to the technological revolution which \"changed standards of design, economy of filmmaking and the content,\" said filmmaker Costa Gavras, present in 2nd International Film Festival of Algiers . In an interview with APS, the French-Greek filmmaker said that the technological revolution, today generalized and accessible for all, must \"serve the causes through making documentaries or works even amateurs, accessible for all,\" thanks to the quite affordable cost of these new means. Mentioning the example of documentaries and fictions production in Tunisia, Egypt and in Syria, the filmmaker explained that this new form of filmmaking \"helps to give testimonies in real time\" having no need to reflection required by big productions. Unlike the amateur films, the committed film must not, according to Costa Gavras, inspire themes from news only, rather analyze and synthetize them. As an example, he mentions his last film \"Le capital\" (the Capital), a \"permanent problem\" which can he discussed at any time.
