The International Social Media Club Bahrain President Ali Sabkar said the club started this year to transfer its experience to the GCC countries by inaugurating its first branch in the UAE as part of an ambitious scheme to set up offshoots in the whole region.Inaugurating the International Social Media Club-the UAE branch, he said "after two years of bringing the experience from the USA to Bahrain, the time is suitable now to expand regionally in order to achieve the club's objective in rendering Bahrain a home to social media industry in the Middle East.Mr. Sabkar took part, alongside members of the International Social Media Club Bahrain, in a function held in Dubai marking the inauguration of the UAE branch during which the Emirati social media expert Heba Al-Samet was officially appointed president of the branch.Mr. Sabkar described the appointment as the result of Ms. Al-Samet's tangible efforts to promote the culture of social media in the UAE. He explained that the UAE branch has been assigned with the task of attracting specialists in social media and connoisseurs to form the club's administrative team which will take charge of promoting the culture of optimum use of social media means in the UAE in a methodical and measurable way.On her part, Ms. Al-Samet hoped her appointment will give impetus to the social media industry in the UAE, describing the inauguration of the UAE branch of the International Social Media Club as an indicator of becoming part of an advanced system that comprises an elite of international social media experts.
