Supreme Council for Youth and Sports Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa assured that the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, will motivate everyone to achieve success in "Challenge Bahrain", which will be the most prominent event of its kind in the region.
Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad underlined Bahrain's keenness to ensure the success of the event and highlighted Bahrain's capability to host various global sport competitions.
This came while Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad attended the press conference of "Challenge Bahrain".
Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad said that the main objective of organising such race is to promote Bahrain international standing, and with triathlon being one of the fastest growing sports in the world, this event shall be organised at the highest level.
He pointed out that "Challenge Bahrain" will encourage national teams and youth to participate in such races, and compete with the well known champions in order to gain more experience, as well as to attract large global tournaments involving world champions in order to develop Bahrain’s sport and to accentuate the bright side of the country, which has become a favourite destination for sporting events.
For their part, the world champions said in the press conference that the actions taken by the Kingdom of Bahrain to embrace this event were very distinguished and perfect in all respects, and that Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad’s interest in following up all organisational details will ensure its complete success.
The champions anticipated the race will be a huge event, but they did not expect to attract a thousand of participants, and the participation of most prominent champions for this kind of sport is a great addition.
They noted that the event shows the region’s interest in such popular sport and Bahrain's warm hospitality. They expressed delight to be in Bahrain and confidence that the tournament will be a great success
