Cairo Criminal Court has adjourned until July 28 the retrial of board chairman of Akhbar El Yom Mohamed Ahdi Fadli and Hany Kamel Amin, the acting director general of the ads sector at the same press institution, on graft charges.
Fadli and Amin are accused of amassing some 21 million pounds through illegal means.
The court delayed the retrial Monday until a report by an experts committee, which had been formed to assess the fortune of Fadli, is submitted.
The Illicit Gains Authority (IGA) had referred Fadli and Amin to criminal court, accusing the first of using his powers to keep the latter in his post when he knew he should retire.
A court ruling had annulled the renewal of Amin's term.
Fadli is accused of attaining 8.262 million pounds worth of ad revenues, while Amin got 12.772 million in violation of press law and regulations of the Akhbar El Yom foundation.
