Libya will be participating in the Arab information ministers' meeting that will take place in Cairo on May 19, Libyan Minister of Information and Culture Omar al Qweri confirmed.
Libya will float during the event its vision for the Arab future and joint action in the media field, the minister told MENA on Saturday.
Qweri said he will propose the establishment of a joint Arab media channel to fight terrorism and Takfirism in the region.
Arab countries have the capabilities necessary for setting up joint media that serves their interests and influence the international mass media, he said.
The third session of the executive office of the Arab Information Ministers' Council will take place on May 19 and 20 in Cairo under Saudi Arabia's chairmanship. The council's 46th meeting will then be held on May 21 chaired by the UAE.
