Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Hmoud Al-Sabah said Thursday that fraternal ties between the people of Kuwait and Pakistan are very close.Representing Kuwait, Sheikh Salman Al-Hmoud made his remarks during a ceremony, hosted by Pakistan Embassy in Kuwait, marking Pakistan's National Day adding that relations between the two countries is also based on common Islamic, historical relations, and trade.Sheikh Salman noted that Kuwait has around 120,000 Pakistani nationals living in Kuwait, which makes them the sixth largest community in the country, mostly working wholeheartedly in the private sector, and do respect Kuwaiti laws.The minister said that trade between the two countries was up to USD 5.3 billion, and Kuwait has large investments in infrastructure and energy in Pakistan, in addition to the exchange of experitise in the domains of culture, education, technology, and healthcare."On behalf of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince, His Highness the Prime Minister and the Kuwaiti people, we (Kuwait) wish the Republic of Pakistan festivities filled with joy and peace, and for the bond between both nations to remain strong."
