While touring polling centers, the minister told reporters that the ministry had arranged programs and interviews in order to give citizens a full image of the electoral process.
On several ministers' inspection tours of polling stations, he said: "Our responsibility is to have cooperation in order to serve the nation, given that cooperation among all authorities is part of successful institutional work." The minister called for translating the directives made by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah for ensuring Kuwait's security and stability into tangible and real steps.
He quoted His Highness the Amir as having emphasized that freedoms are enshrined in the State's constitution and law, and that cooperation is required from everybody at present.
Meanwhile, a judge supervising the ongoing by-election said the electoral process is going well thanks to coordination and cooperation among all involved state bodies.
Speaking to KUNA, Abdulsaheb Al-Tabtabai said everything was fine and turnout could increase later in the day.
On his part, Farwaniya Governor Sheikh Faisal Al-Humoud Al-Sabah said participation in parliamentary by-elections today is a national duty that deepens democratic practice by means of choosing perspective deputies who can really represent citizens and seek to fulfill their expectations and hopes.
He told reporters at a polling center that all efforts were being exerted in order to ensure a successful electoral process held in the second, third and fourth constituencies.
