KUNA Board Chairman and Director General Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij Al-Ibrahim Al-Sabah said he is looking forward to bolstering media cooperation between Kuwait and China, to be up to historical bilateral ties.
Receiving China's Xinhua news agency's Editor in Chief He Ping who arrived here earlier today for a two-day visit at the invitation of KUNA, with an accompanying delegation, Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij called for broadening cooperation between the two agencies.
The visit by the Chinese media delegation to Kuwait is part of efforts to cement ties between KUNA and Xinhua based on a cooperation agreement signed in 1993.
Means of boosting media ties between Kuwait and China will feature high on the visit agenda, focusing on KUNA office to be opened in Beijing and the facilities the Kuwaiti agency offers to Xinhua office here.
The Xinhua delegation will have a tour in KUNA's departments and will get acquainted with the media services the agency offers as well as the developments the agency has witnessed.
On arrival, the visiting delegation was received by KUNA Deputy Director General for Administrative and Financial Affairs Abdulhameed Malak, Deputy Director General for Editorial Affairs Saad Ali Mohammad, the Chinese ambassador to Kuwait Cui Jianchun, and head of Xinhua office in Kuwait.
Meanwhile, Director General of the Albanian Telegraphic Agency Gezim Podgorica and his accompanying delegation left Kuwait today after a three-day visit at the invitation of KUNA. During the visit, Podgorica and KUNA Board Chairman signed a cooperation agreement.
Sheikh Mubarak Al-Duaij saw the Albanian delegation off.
