Iraqi police have arrested four regional reporters after they covered ongoing demonstrations in the fractious province of Anbar. Sumeria satellite channel photographer Ammar al-Ani said in an interview with Arabstoday: “Anbar police released me and three other journalist after being detained for several hours for covering demonstrations in Ramadi.” Al-Ani has claimed leading members of the police force made the four sign a document promising not to cover demonstrations again “in return for relase.”
