Minister of Information, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Head of the Standing Committee of National Celebrations Sheikh Salman Sabah Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah congratulated Tuesday Kuwaiti leadership and people on the 54th anniversary of Independence Day and the 24th anniversary of the Liberation Day.
On this glorious occasion, the Minister felicitated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah.
Kuwait is also celebrating two dear occasions these days: the ninth anniversary of His Highness the Amir's assumption to power and the ninth anniversary of His Highness the Crown Prince assuming his post. Adding to their joy, Kuwaitis this year also celebrate the recent UN honoring and proclamation of His Highness the Amir as a "Humanitarian Leader" of Kuwait as a "Humanitarian Center", he said.
The Minster pointed out that the rapid political developments in the world and region alter everybody about the importance of installing the values of hard-work, loyalty to homeland, tolerance and citizenship in the minds of youth.
Sheikh Salman called on Kuwaiti youth to embrace the tolerant approach of their ancestors and to appreciate their sacrifices to maintain the state's security, safety and stability.
He expressed Kuwait's gratitude for the Gulf Cooperation Council states and the sisterly and friendly countries which supported and helped Kuwait liberate its territories from the Iraqi occupation.
