Information Affairs Authority President Shaikh Fawaz bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa will lead Bahrain’s delegation to the 20th meeting of the GCC information ministers. Saudi Information Minister Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohieddine Khoja will chair the session in Riyadh. In a statement issued today, Shaikh Fawaz said that the meeting would discuss media projects under the 2010-2020 joint information strategy. The GCC leaders had already endorsed the media blueprint, which reflects the importance of media coordination and complementarity in promoting Gulf citizenship and bolstering GCC security and stability in addition to protecting development achievements. The delegations will also discuss proposals and recommendations aimed at consolidating radio and TV cooperation, in addition to news agencies, e-media and the production or documentaries and cultural programmes. Other proposals aimed at coordinating information policies and external media will also be on the agenda. Shaikh Fawaz will also join the other GCC information ministers in laying the foundation stone for the permanent headquarters of the GCC Radio and TV establishment in Riyadh. He extended thanks to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his wise Government for backing the project.
