Prosecutor General Hisham Barakat on Saturday ordered the release of editor in chief of Youm7 daily Khaled Salah and another journalist on bail of 10,000 pounds each over publishing false news.
Earlier, the Public Prosecution received a complaint from the Interior Ministry that the private paper published "false news" that a presidency motorcade came under attack while returning from Sharm el Sheikh.
Salah, along with the other journalist, faces charges of spreading fabricated news that may disturb public peace, triggering panic among people and harming public interest.
