Oslo-based content protection firm Conax has revealed that it is to embark upon a major extension of its business. The company believes that 2012 is already showing great promise and, revealed CEO Morten Solbakken, there will be five new deals announced within the next two to three months the end of the year, And as it aims to capitalise on worldwide digitisation and secure multiscreen content, Conax will aim to simplify operational complexity through pre-integrated solutions with partners. The Partner Program will be announced at IBC in September with strategic selection and integration with best of breed partners to offer pre-integrated solutions to operators. At the heart of the offering will be the Contego Unite platform which offers security across broadcast, broadband and OTT platforms acting as a universal security hub for hybrid broadcast broadband and OTT operations EVP Products Tom Jahr added that the 2012 roadmap for Contego will include security for advanced VOD; OTT, including on-demand, catch-up and live TV; Integrated CI+ module; support for Play Ready.
