Managing Director at Cisco Systems Gulf, Levant, Iraq and Pakistan Ziad Salameh, said challenges facing the company in the Middle East did not affect attention given to the Information Technology sector.
"On the contrary, Cisco expanded its activities in the region due to the opportunities it has," Salamah added in an interview with Jordan News Agency, Petra.
These opportunities, he added, lie in the support given by countries to the IT industry, mainly Jordan with which Cisco has a strategic partnership.
On the challenges facing the IT sector in the region, he said they include political instability that affect investments in the region and the drop in oil prices that prompted Gulf states to cut broadband network projects.
Cisco Systems, Inc. is an American multinational technology company headquartered that designs, manufactures, and sells networking equipment.
Cisco is the worldwide leader in networking for the Internet. 85 percent of Internet traffic travel across Cisco's systems and it supports, manages and operates business systems for various and major third parties.
