Bahrain News Agency (BNA) has embarked on an ambitious initiative to promote glorious chapters of Bahrain\'s history, in cooperation with ministries, state enterprises and the local press. The Kingdom\'s official agency has launched \"BNA Zaman\", an innovative service aimed at documenting Bahrain\'s landmark development achievements. \"Pictures showcasing leading public figures in all sectors will be posted on BNA Zaman\", BNA Acting Director-General Muhannad Suleiman said. He announced plans to set up a big e-library showcasing various facets of Bahrain\'s development strides in black and white, to be put at the disposal of BNA website visitors and researchers specialized in Bahrain\'s modern history. Over 500 black and white pictures have already been posted on BNA Zaman, as part of plans to digitalize the archives to feature on the newly-launched service, along with colour pictures. Mr. Muhannad extended thanks to the ministries of interior, municipalities and urban planning, culture and housing for their cooperation. He also thanked the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), Bahrain Airport Company, the Central Informatics Organisation, Muharraq Governorate, the Electricity and Water Authority and Al-Ayyam newspaper. Mr. Muhannad called upon researchers, citizens and other state establishments and government departments to supply BNA Zaman with old photos and contribute to enriching the e-library.
