The Federation of Arab Journalists (FAJ) announced full support for journalists in Libya, asserting the legitimacy of their demands for the freedom of expression. In a statement, the union strongly rejected all forms of threat and crackdown on journalists, including those who had worked before the Libyan revolution. The union said that a strike by national newspapers and many independent papers and some satellite channels in Libya is a dangerous signal and a worrying matter. Attacking journalists requires an immediate intervention from the government and providing security for them, the union said.
