Four editorial cartoonists were killed in an attack on the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo on Wednesday.
The newspaper's editor-in-chief, Stéphane Charbonnier, who was known as "Charb," and also cartooned for the publication, was gunned down. Also killed were well-known cartoonists Cabu, Wolinski and Tignous.
At least eight others were killed in the attack.
Meanwhile, the French police said the killers were heard to shout 'the Prophet has been avenged'.
Three masked gunmen entered the offices of French satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo this morning and opened fire, leaving 12 people dead and 10 injured.
