Although not the original, the styling of this Alfa Romeo concept replica helped inspire the Lamborghini Countach. Before you get too excited (or if you just read the title), this is not the Alfa Romeo Carabo concept car that premiered way back at the 1968 Paris Motor Show.Designed by Marcello Gandini when he worked at Bertone, a replica of the original concept was later built by Sam Foose, the father of hot rod connoisseur and fabricator Chip Foose. And it\'s clear the concept inspired the design for one of the most recognized and sought after supercars of all time, the Lamborghini Countach.Although the senior Foose was unable to buy the original from Bertone, his love for the clearly didn\'t stop him from having it. So back in 1972, this replica was built on a De Tomaso Pantera platform and to differentiate from the original concept, it was constructed sans roof.Powered by a Ford 351 Cleveland V8 mated to a five-speed manual, it was up for sale back in 2010 and now it appears that it\'s once again on the market. Its custom body, which is constructed of fiberglass, is reportedly in excellent condition. Both the interior and exterior are maroon in color and no other bodywork or serious maintenance is needed. And for $55,000, this one-of-a-kind one-off replica can be all yours. The buyer is in West Palm Beach, Florida, so if anybody is in the area, this is something highly worth checking out.
