Tesla Model X

Tesla expanded their model range by a third. But then again that’s not too difficult if you were only producing two vehicles to begin with. The new vehicle, discreetly called the ‘Model X’, is a compact utility vehicle which features the same styling cues as the company’s Model S sedan. The Model X is scheduled to go on sale by late 2013.Highlights of the Tesla Model X, aside from the all-electric drivetrain, include dramatic “falcon wing” doors – which allow for access even in very tight spaces, and a stylish interior complete with a massive touchscreen displayThe Tesla Model X is available with three different drive options. There’s the standard Model X which features a RWD layout; a dual-motor AWD Model; and a dual-motor AWD version with more powerful batteries and electric motors. The top spec Model X, fitted with an 85kWh battery pack, can reach 60 miles an hour in just 4.4 seconds!The seven-seat Tesla Model X will be priced from $57,500 in the US, rising up to around $90,00 for the all-singing, all-dancing, fully-optioned vehicle.And that’s not bad for a vehicle that can out accelerate a Porsche 911, has the same turning circle as a MINI Cooper, has as many seats as a minivan, and has a cargo area the size of an Audi Q7.
