Volkswagen will recall 2,120 Touareg SUVs in China over fire risks, said the country's top quality watchdog on Friday.
The affected vehicles were manufactured between Sept. 6, 2010 and Aug. 13, 2014, said the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine.
The administration said batteries in the car could short-circuit if water gets in the trunk, leading to fire hazards.
Volkswagen will install drain valves for the affected vehicles free of charge, with the recall starting from Feb. 18.
