Vauxhall Special Vehicles is showcasing the largest range of vehicles from a single manufacturer at the National Association of Police Fleet Managers’ annual conference on September 25th and 26th in Peterborough. With a main Vauxhall stand and three vehicles in the Eco Zone for low carbon vehicles, the Luton-based manufacturer will display Police vehicles alongside civilian vehicles including the first UK show appearance of the Mokka, which arrives in showrooms this November. Industry firsts on the Vauxhall’s stand include an Insignia with a rugged tablet dock in the dash fascia and a Vivaro Police Support Unit that can beam live footage to other vehicles in the field including an Insignia and a Movano Protected Support Unit. Vauxhall’s award-winning Police Ampera, with internal and external cameras and technology which predicts future crime hotspots, will also be on display. Linking the blue lights of a Police vehicle provides cost savings compared with conventional Bluelight installations. Vauxhall is at the forefront of this technology, and will be displaying an Astra which is compliant into the Association of Chief Police Officers Intelligent Transport Solutions, with SVA and new European CAN standard CIA 447. The Eco Zone stand features civilian vehicles including the European Car of the Year-winning Ampera, a Corsa with CO2 emissions of just 88g/km and a Hydrogen-4 fuel cell concept. “We have the largest and most impressive range at the event this year, which reinforces our position as the UK largest supplier of Police vehicles,” said Dick Ellam, Vauxhall Special Vehicles Manager. “The conference is a fantastic opportunity to show the wide range of products and cutting edge technology Vauxhall has to offer Police forces. Our strategy is to provide affordable technology to support Police Fleets in these times of financial austerity.” From Motorin news
