The 30th edition of the Pharaohs Rally 2012 will be held under the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism form October 1 - 6 2012. This will be organised by Automobile & Touring Club of Egypt Racing equipment will arrive at the port of Alexandria before the race and on September 25 2012, the contestants will arrive. The rally will take place in Egypt\'s western desert that is distinguished by its unique diversity. It is flat, solid with sand dunes. Pharaohs Rally of 2012 will take place in six stages and its overall length within Western Sahara will reach 3000 km. This year there will be about 610 contestants, technical and administrative staff of different nationalities who will participate in the rally. Fifteen Egyptian teams are expected to participate in the rally. In a bid to encourage strong Arab participation, they can receive 50% of subscription discount. This tactic is a way to encourage young Arab and Egyptian contestants to participate and to compete. The vehicles that will participate in the rally are 162 cars and SUV trucks, 72 motorcycles, 16 trucks for technical and administrative help and two helicopters for control and evacuation. In addition there will be a well equipped medical team including 25 medical staff and eight ambulances.
