Multiple trial world champion Laia Sanz will be the new image of SEAT during the coming year, joining Jordi Gené as racing celebrity ambassadors of the Spanish brand. With this arrangement, Laia Sanz begins her association with SEAT in one of the company’s greatest moments, as it is fully immersed in an unprecedented product offensive that has been led by the new Leon in 2013. Laia Sanz is a perfect match with the company’s values and from now on will be driving a SEAT Leon SC, a car that closely suits her character and lifestyle with three distinct qualities that Laia could not do without – design, technology and sporty flair. Laia is a highly successful rider in a magnificent stage of her career – this year she has won her thirteenth women’s trial world championship title and her second women’s enduro world cup, as well as three gold medals at the X Games in the women’s moto x endurocross category. Laia is currently in the final stretch of training for the upcoming Dakar rally, which is being held in South America from 5 to 18 January 2014, where she is participating for the fourth year in a row. Born on 11 December, 1985 in Corbera de Llobregat, near Barcelona, Laia Sanz is the greatest trial rider of all time and boasts an impressive track record – 13 women’s trial world titles, 10 women’s trial European titles, 5 Trial des Nations titles, and three victories in the Dakar rally’s female motorcycle category. At this year’s X Games she took home three gold medals and one silver in the women’s enduro category and she is also the winner of the 2012 and 2013 women’s enduro world championship. Her long list of distinctions include the Queen Sofia National Sports Award in 2007 for best Spanish sportswoman, and more recently, the Royal Order of Sports Merit Gold Medal, the highest honour given to sports in Spain, in October 2013. With the addition of Laia Sanz to SEAT’s ambassador programme, she now joins the likes of driver Jordi Gené and popular actors Santi Millán, María Castro and Maxi Iglesias. Source: SEAT
