Far from actually producing the Lotus Evora GTE, Lotus will actually display another special edition car at the Geneva Auto Salon 2012. Caradisiac scooped pictures of what they believe is the Lotus Evora GTE Formula 1 Edition. It was discovered in a parking lot during a trip to Jerez to cover the F1 pre-season testing earlier this month. The standard Evora GTE road car is the most powerful production Lotus road car ever built producing over 444hp from the 3.5 liter V6 Lotus Evora engine. Created as a special limited edition for the Asian market and designed to celebrate Lotus’ successful entry to the new global motorsport GTE category, the hand built Evora GTE road car has a sequential AMT (Automated Manual Transmission) racing gearbox and lightweight and forged alloy rims with center lock hubs shod with Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tyres. It is unknown what the new edition will feature exactly. Performance figures and upgrades have not been shared so far. Stay tuned for the official release on the 6th of March. The car wears the number 10 which Formula 1 fans will know, will be raced by Romain Grosjean on the newly renamed Lotus F1 Team car this year. The special edition Evora GTE will be presented by Lotus F1?s other driver Kimi Raikkonen at the show. Interestingly he has been spotted in a Lotus Evora S recently.
