Honda Malaysia Sdn Bhd Tuesday held a groundbreaking ceremony for the new RM40.12 million Pre Delivery Inspection (PDI) Centre and Vehicle Quality Test Course at Honda\'s Pegoh plant here. Honda Malaysia managing director and chief executive officer Yoichiro Ueno said the new PDI Centre is expected to be completed by June this year and will be able to process up to 400 vehicles operating on two shifts. \"The new PDI facility covers a total site area of 57,000 square metres, is specially designed for good air circulation, and is equipped with a loading bay with a roof to facilitate the loading process during bad weather,\" he said at the function officiated by Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mod Ali Rustam. The existing PDI Centre operates on a single shift processing 180 vehicles at any one time. Ueno said the functions of the PDI Centre include incoming inspection, accesssorisation, warehousing, final inspection, car tracking and washing to ensure the product quality meets Honda\'s stringent pre-delivery requirements. -- BERNAMA
