Some light rain and a change in wind direction brought down the maximum day temperatures by more than 10°C, from 40.3°C to 30° C in Sharjah and other coastal areas of the UAE on Saturday. Light rain fell over parts of Sharjah and the airport area, parts of Dubai, coastal parts of Northern Emirates and the western islands, Met sources said. Rain is expected on Sunday and Monday as well, meteorologists said. However, a slight increase in day temperature is predicted on Monday. The drop in temperature came as a boon for residents who used the occasion for weekend outing and shopping.
