Moderate to heavy rain associated with thunderstorm is likely to hit Hatta and some eastern parts of the country as a new weather system has developed over Oman. The weather was cloudy yesterday across the country with light rain in the south-west of Al Ain (measuring 7.4mm) and the western region of Abu Dhabi. A drizzle was also experienced in the downtown Al Ain at around 3.30pm. The current weather system is likely to dominate the region until April 20. The NCMS said weather will be partly cloudy today in general with an increasing amount of clouds over some areas, especially the coastal and western region. The daytime temperature will increase in some parts of the emirate and winds are likely to be moderately rough in general. Forecasters said the high likelihood of rain and thunderstorm is over Oman with rainfall between 25mm to 100mm.
