World Future Energy Summit kicked of here on Monday, with an intentional participation including presidents, and senior officials in the energy sector worldwide.
UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum inaugurated the summit, with the attendance of the Egyptian President Abdelfatah Al-Sisi, besides Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
The summit is considered as the largest gathering in the Middle East discussing energy challenges.
The summit hosted by Masdar Company, is part of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) that is held on January 17 till January 24.
ADSW is the ground-breaking global forum that unites thought leaders, policy makers and investors to address the challenges of renewable energy and sustainable development.
The summit will discuss plans, policies and programs of allowing cities to become environmentally-friendly healthy places in order to boost the economic growth.
The summit is regarded by many experts in sustainable development as the most encouraging event for the growth of smart cities.
