Finance Minister Hani Qadri said on Monday the government institutions will start soon taking necessary measures to rationalize the use of energy.
These institutions have already started buying necessary power-saving equipment and are working on replacing fuel-powered vehicles into gas ones, the minister said at Al Mal GTM conference, opened here earlier in the day.
The government also works on restructuring social programs to make sure that state subsidy reaches needy ones, he said.
The new ration card system is among the new efforts taken by the state to improve subsidy programs, he said.
Al Mal GTM Conference kicked off here earlier in the day under the title of “Managing Economic Growth in Egypt”. It runs on 29 and 30 September in Cairo.
