Egypt's Investment Minister Ashraf Salman Said Monday the renewable energy tariff is scheduled to announced in October.
During Almal GTM Conference, the minister added the government will start using solar energy, then the wind, traditional energies, and coal.
Solar energy production takes 9 to 12 months, 18 months for wind, while gas-fired power takes two to three years, he said.
Renewable energy will generate eight GW, including four GW of wind energy and four others of Solar energy, he added.
Revenues of the Suez Canal amounted to $ 5.25 billion, planned to hit $ 7 billion after digging the new canal, and expected to reach $ 13 billion with the growth of global trade within 5 years, he revealed.
New transit fees may be applied with the beginning of the new canal project, the minister said.
