The electricity observatory at the Electric Utility and Consumer Protection Regulatory Agency announced Thursday the expected maximum electricity load for today will be 26,800 MW, while the minimum 20,395 MW.
The power gap between supply and consumption is expected to be 600 MW, it said in a statement.
The highest consumption point on Wednesday was between 7:40 p.m. and 9:15 p.m., it added.
The load indicator appeared in green color from midnight to 1:50 p.m., meaning the load was safe at the time.
Turning orange indicates an urgent need to rationalize consumption, while red is a warning of the high load on the electricity grid.
Egypt is trying to reduce the consumption of electricity as many people complain about daily power cuts.
