Albanian Minister of Energy and Industry Damian Gjiknuri declared on Friday that the first month of operation against the energy theft has increased the revenues by 4.38 billion lek(40 million U.S. dollars) compared to the same month of one year ago, and has decreased the losses at a historic level, according to Albanian Daily News.
"The level of losses for November marked a historic drop, by reaching 32.8 percent compared to November 2013, when the level of losses was 48 percent," Gjiknuri declared.
The Minister said that from December 4th, when the new payment scheme with an 80 percent discount for delay fines entered in force, the Energy Corporation has signed 16,800 agreements for paying debts.
"7,318 of them are families, who have benefited from the 80 percent reduction by completely paying the debts that have been accumulated towards the company. 967 agreements have been collected these days for paying the obligation of families that receive economic assistance," Gjiknuri declared.
