Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab inaugurated on Sunday a production line of photovoltaic solar panels at the headquarters of the Arab Renewable Energy Company (ARECO), a subsidiary of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI).
The prime minister listened to an explanation from the company's officials on the project as well as the establishment of the first solar energy plant with a capacity of 600 kilowatts and the implementation of similar projects in various parts of the country.
The company head pointed out to an agreement with a German firm giving AOI the right to produce, sell and operate wind turbines in Zaafrania area with a capacity of 3 megawatts.
The new project was carried out as part of the state's interest in new and renewable energy, especially solar power.
